Fine old full-size English violin made by William John Acton, London, 1923 labelled, “William John Acton, fecit anno 1923, Forest Gate, London.”

This violin is in excellent playing condition with a beautiful warm tone. Varnish is golden brown in colour and completely original, nicely figured one piece back, ribs, neck and scroll. Fully blocked and lined. Purfling is neatly inlaid with the instrument having very good edge work.

A fine example of this makers work which was made towards the end of his career.

Back length 35.5cm
